To CitiBlocs, Gold and Platinum Are Priceless
CitiBlocs Receives Three 2011 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Awards
|
Tampa, FL (September 26, 2011) — CitiBlocs recently came into some gold and platinum, and even though current prices for both are high, they’re not looking to sell. That’s because in the toy industry, Oppenheim Gold and Platinum mean much more than actual gold and platinum!
The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio recognized CitiBlocs this year for its success in helping ALL children—even those as young as 2—enjoy the joy of building. So while our children build up, then knock down CitiBlocs blocks, The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio would simply like to build up CitiBlocs with three 2011 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Awards.
Founded in 1989 by mother and daughter child development experts, Joanne and Stephanie Oppenheim, the Oppenheims review the best in children’s products on their website (www.toyportfolio. com). Their awards have become the benchmark of excellence with both consumers and industry insiders. The Oppenheims are Contributors to NBC’s TODAY Show. Visit www.toyportfolio.com to view winners or more information and click on Stephanie’s Blog tab.
CitiBlocs “Little Builders Rattle Blocks” received a 2011 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Best Toy Award and a Snap Award. Platinum Awards represent the most innovative, engaging new products of the year. Snap Awards are given to products that can be used by or easily adapted for children with special needs. Here is why the Oppenheim judges think
CitiBlocs deserves to have its toy-making ego built up just a little:
Little Builders Rattle Blocks • Preschool • $35
22 wooden blocks with rattle sounds inside, colorful rooftops, and staircases are designed for beginning builders. These are chunkier than the classic CitiBlocs. These smoothly finished blocks play to sensory feedback for little hands and ears. Stack them up high or line them up sideways. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy these. After they have played with the blocks for awhile, kids may like using the colored graphics to match up buildings of one color or set them up in patterns. Younger toddlers will like building them up and knocking them down with a big kaboom! 2 and up.
SNAP Activities: These blocks are chunkier and somewhat easier to grasp. They are also a bit more literal with premade roof tops and colored strips. They should be enjoyed independently, but you can also use them to reinforce color words and sorting skills. Build an all red striped building or talk about the colors of the roof tops. Help build two buildings that are the same height. Talk about building by adding one more and one less. These concepts are basic to math, but they are best learned in concrete ways that build understanding.
CitiBlocs Camouflage 100-Piece Set • Ages 3 and up • $24.99
This new set of camouflage-colored blocks has been awarded the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio 2011 Gold Award. The Gold Award is given to outstanding new products that enhance the lives of children.
