Eco-Friendly & Fun Family-Owned Game Company Taps its PR Agency’s Team of Family Influencers For Needed Images
Boston, MA (February 2, 2021) – Adventerra Games is still the new kid on the block in the US, having just exhibited at the New York Toy Fair for the first time in 2020, just before the pandemic hit the US. As the country grappled with shutdowns and social distancing, and the company’s new preschool games arrived in the fall, the company was faced with the difficulty of scarce options for getting the games photographed with age-appropriate children.
But as they say, the show must go on, so the company partnered with the Instagram family influencers tapped by its PR agency, KidStuff PR, to get the job done. Adventerra Games created an instruction sheet with tips for lighting and requests for candid, not-posed photos of kids engaging with the puzzles and games it was poised to launch in November. The company also needed videos to use to convince retailers and sales reps to get on board with selling the games.
It was risky because the influencer families don’t have professional equipment, most often shooting pictures and videos for Instagram on their cell phones. They each have their own way of presenting products in reviews that work for them, so getting them to adhere to the company’s wish list was going to be challenging. Also, many families were struggling with having kids doing remote learning at home, while parents were also trying to work from home and sometimes dealing with COVID impacts on family and friends.
In the end, the project was a resounding success. The families, who were paid a nominal fee for their efforts, delivered compelling, fun videos and pictures of their kids, and Adventerra Games worked with a young videographer, Ethan Solomon, to compile the videos for each game and then a master video showing all of them. He also crafted videos specific to the company’s new sales rep groups for them to share with their sales teams.
In the videos, everyday kids are shown genuinely enjoying and playing with the company’s products, and the moms recorded themselves providing quotes about what they loved about the products as parents.
